正风武馆在当地颇有名气，因为当地一年一度的舞狮大会正风武馆已经连续七年夺冠。今年，舞狮大会举办方为了吸引眼球，设了难度极高的采青大赛。阿昆和阿龙（成龙 饰）是正风武馆的师兄弟，每年都是阿昆代表武馆初赛。不料今年出赛前几天练习时阿昆失足扭伤了，馆长无奈之下只能 派出阿龙出赛。 阿龙由于首次参赛，而且今年难度非常大，最终败下阵来。虽然受到了其他师兄弟的取笑，但阿龙丝毫没有放在心上，反而，他在比赛中发现的一个秘密却成了他的心头大石。

“九一八”事变后，侵华日军在中苏边境修建了号称“东方马奇诺防线”的军事要塞。苏联将军的中国养女安娜潜入中国东北，调查要塞，不幸被日军抓获。东北抗联派出侦查员文龙营救安娜。魔术师高小庄、猎人胡大壮、国军女特工谭卓茹、东北军军官魏坤宁等人参与营救。文龙把安娜从虎头要塞劳工营救出后，劳工营日本军官小泉清带兵追击。文龙原计划把安娜从东北的中苏边境送出，可日军提前封锁边境，于是文龙改变计划，决定把安娜送到关内，安娜手上握有记录日军暴行和机密的照片，为避免泄密，日军又派出阿部宽参加抓捕。在护送安娜的过程中，文龙带领众人摧毁了日军铁路、毒品工厂地等一系列军事设施，发现了大量日军侵华罪证。为保护我们掌握的日军罪证，胡大壮、谭卓茹、魏坤宁等人相继牺牲。经过与日军殊死较量，最终把安娜送到了安全地方
故事从主人公直己的视角出发，他是一个沉默寡言的大学辍学生，在父亲的废品回收公司打工。某天直己在游泳池认识了男孩槙，晚上回家时他让槙和槙的盲眼奶奶搭了顺风车。 奶奶在车上讲起年轻时环球旅行的经历，包括打卡《春光乍泄》里的伊瓜苏瀑布。然而等重病住院后，她才向男孩们坦白自己从未离开过日本——所有故事都是她编的。她把存折送给孙子，希望槙替她去看这个世界，只是奶奶并不知道自己已经没多少钱了。 不忍向奶奶道明真相的槙认为别无选择，他只能收录合成各种音效，模仿在世界各地的游历，做成磁带后拜托直己放给奶奶听。直己义无反顾当起了槙的助手，两人结伴收集瀑布、大海、森林的声音，在荒郊野外露宿或在车库光着脚打闹，玩着只有彼此才懂的摔跤游戏，释放内心的隐秘情绪。 经过看似无忧无虑的一段时光，直己提出了要求：我们能真的环球旅行一次吗？比如，去看伊瓜苏瀑布？
